Batul Gulamhusein
Batul Gulamhusein joined the Stand.earth team in December 2021 as the Digital Campaigner on the Climate Finance team. Prior to joining Stand, Batul worked as the Programming and Development Manager at the Leap, a climate justice organization committed to connecting the dots between climate crisis, racism and inequality.
Batul is an experienced campaigner, grassroots organizer and facilitator that has worked with progressive organizations like the David Suzuki Foundation, Leadnow and camp fyrefly to build winning teams, strategies, and campaigns. They have been active in social movements for the past decade, working to address white supremacy, stop the climate crisis, and championing queer, trans and racialized peoples in the fight for global justice.
She is a first-generation femme settler of colour based in amiskwaciwâskahikan, the homelands and gathering places of the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux nations. Batul is passionate about croissants, long road trips, buying lots of books, and planning impossible hiking trips.
