Lana Goldberg
As part of the SAFE Cities team, Lana is building a movement for bottom-up climate action in towns and cities, while pushing higher levels of government to do their part.
Lana has been campaigning on environmental and social justice issues for over a decade. She has worked at a number of advocacy organizations including Greenpeace Canada where she challenged the destructive practices of fossil fuel companies. At Environmental Defence she was engaged in energy policy and mobilized the public to press the Ontario government to act on climate. For Grassy Narrows First Nation in northern Ontario she executed a national Mercury Justice educational and pressure campaign, helping to secure federal government commitments for the community.
Outside of work Lana has been leading grassroots environmental justice and Indigenous solidarity organizing in Ontario and has mobilized support for communities across the country. In her downtime she likes to hike, dance, eat good food, and read fiction.
