Climate Campaigner - SAFE Cities Canada

Lana has been an environmental and social justice organizer for over a decade. Since 2011 she has been leading grassroots campaigns in Tkaronto (Toronto) including on economic justice issues and Tar Sands pipelines, as well as in support of Indigenous rights struggles in Ontario and across the country. Lana has also worked in the NGO sector for almost ten years at organizations such as the Centre for Social Justice and Greenpeace Canada. Before joining Stand, she was the Ontario Climate Program Manager at Environmental Defence where she led a team and broader coalitions to push for better climate policies in the province. Prior to that she worked for Grassy Narrows First Nation (located in northern Ontario), helping the community run a national Mercury Justice campaign and secure commitments from the Federal government. Lana is passionate about supporting frontline communities and mobilizing people power to bring about real climate solutions. In her downtime she likes to hike, dance, eat good food, and read fiction.
