Senior Digital Campaigner

Nathan Taft joined Stand.earth in the summer of 2018 to serve as the digital point person for the Extreme Oil campaign and to help grow Stand.earth’s grassroots fundraising program. Before becoming a part of the Stand.earth team, Nathan was the Digital Communications Specialist for Fuel Freedom Foundation, an international non-profit dedicated to breaking the world’s oil addiction by promoting alternative fuels. While there, he created, researched, and oversaw multi-channel campaigns that earned coverage in Bloomberg, RealClearEnergy, Green Car Reports, and other publications. Nathan also has experience as the Social Media Manager for progressive Katie Porter’s winning political campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives, where he helped triple her social presence and raised thousands of dollars from donations averaging $14. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington in Seattle.

The guiding principle in Nathan’s life is a Jewish concept known as “Tikkun Olam” (which literally means “Repair the World”). It’s what brought him to Stand.earth, and defines how he tries to lead both his professional and personal life.

When he’s not out trying to save the world, you can probably find Nathan hiking, cooking, or hanging out with his cat Korra.
