My name is Rosario Dawson, and I want to tell you about something wild.
Our retirement savings, money meant to care for us and our families in the future, is still being invested in the companies driving climate destruction right now. That includes mine. That includes retirement funds for millions of Americans, possibly yours.
We launched the Retire Big Oil campaign a few weeks ago to change that. Already, more than 500 actors, writers, stunt performers, and artists have added their names. And in a stunning show of people power, you and thousands of other Stand.earth members sent over 280,000 letters to the folks who run SAG-AFTRA’s pension board.
This is personal for me. I come from a working family. I have seen what happens when promises for the future do not hold up. Our money should be working for our health, our communities, and our planet. Not helping Big Oil double down on climate chaos.
If we win this fight with the SAG-Producers Pension Plan, it will not stop there. We are setting the stage to divest millions more retirement accounts across the country.
The momentum is real. But to keep building, we need to spread the word.
