Stand.earth statement on the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict

‘This verdict is a tragedy.’

The Kyle Rittenhouse verdict is a tragedy.

A white underage man illegally bought a gun, went looking for trouble, then put people in grave danger while claiming to protect private property. He then killed two people and injured one, and an almost entirely white jury said, “No problem.”

It is way past time the United States began to address the violent white supremacy preying on its people. We mourn for all of those impacted by this mockery of justice and the violence it excuses.
