11am ET on June 24: NRDC to release updated analysis on climate impacts caused by toilet paper industry and how its ‘tree to toilet’ pipeline destroys boreal forest in Canada

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, June 24th, at 11 a.m. ET, NRDC (the Natural Resources Defense Council) will release its updated analysis of the climate impacts caused by the “tree to toilet” pipeline that is destroying the climate-critical Canadian boreal forest.

NRDC’s “Issue with Tissue 2.0” report includes an updated sustainability ranking (with grades of “A” through “F”) for 26 toilet paper brands and other tissue products made by major U.S. manufacturers.

While toilet paper’s emergence as one of the most sought-after products in America was an unexpected side effect of COVID-19, the toilet paper shortage has brought to the forefront the urgency of creating a more sustainable, resilient means of production of tissue products.
