Stand.earth gears up for Climate Week NYC 2024

September 17, 2024
Join representatives of Stand.earth at events related to its Climate Finance, Amazon Rainforest, Transportation, and SAFE Cities campaigns as part of Climate Week NYC 2024.

International nonprofit environmental organization Stand.earth will be hosting and collaborating on numerous events as part of the 2024 Climate Week NYC and the U.N. Climate Ambition Summit in New York City this month.

The global advocacy organization aims to deliver large-scale change for the planet and its people by interrupting the systems that create climate crises, and challenging corporations and governments to treat people and the environment with respect.

Join Stand’s campaigns at the events below to learn about their vision for a climate-safe, equitable future, where environmental and climate justice policies uphold the dignity of people everywhere — at the scale our world requires.

Climate Finance

Stand’s Climate Finance program is joining hundreds of activists to demand that Citi meets with community leaders from the Gulf South at a “Citi Standoff: Come Down or Shutdown” gathering from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET Monday, Sept. 23 at Citigroup’s Global Headquarters, 388 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10013. These leaders, who are fighting Citi-funded fossil fuel development in their neighborhoods, have been asking to meet with Citi executives for months without success. Leaders are requesting to meet to discuss the findings of a new Stand.earth report, Citi: Funding Fossil-Fueled Environmental Racism in the Gulf South. If executives refuse to meet with the Gulf leaders, activists will shut down Citi’s headquarters. Learn more and register here.
