Introduction to Mindfulness for Activists with angel Kyodo williams

On June 17, 2015 Reverend Angel Kyodo williams gave a webinar on the importance and power of mindfulness for activists that connected about 200 people.

Angel is the Co-Chair of the Board at ForestEthics (now Stand.earth), where we use mindfulness to strengthen our campaign work and build our resiliency. angel is also an author, activist, entrepreneur, master trainer, spiritual leader, teacher and priest in the Zen tradition. The participants in this webinar, both those new to mindfulness and experienced practitioners, praised angel’s insights and the tools she offered. This recording includes her voice and slides from the presentation and also the Q and A with the audience.

A little more on angel: She is the founder of the Center for Transformative Change and Spiritual Director of the New Dharma Community. An early shaper and leading voice in the field of Transformative Social Change, Rev. william’s work bridges personal transformation and social change. Rev. williams is author of Being Black: Zen and the Art of Living With Fearlessness and Grace, the critically-acclaimed book called “an act of love” by Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker and “a classic” by Buddhist pioneer Jack Kornfield. She brings a lens of justice for marginalized and impacted communities to her work on the environment. She has served on the ForestEthics Board for 10 years.
